Van Hoevenberg have delighted guests for over 35 years. 4km of World Championship rate trails are joining Van Ho's existing 50km of rolling Adirondack terrain. Cascade X-C Ski Center is a full service cross country ski center featuring 20 KM of groomed trails, the region’s most complete Nordic shop and Knicker’s bar & restaurant serving Nordic comfort fare and Adirondack fun.
James C. Frenette Sr. Recreational Trails
The Groomed Cross Country Ski Center’s trails connect the Tupper Lake Golf Course to the old Big Tupper Ski Area. The 5 main trails (Golf Course Loop, Cranberry Pond Loop, Little Logger Loop, Big Tupper Trail and The Skidder Trail) offer a variety of terrain and scenic vistas.
The new Scotts Cobble Nordic Center features 10km of groomed trails for skating and classic skiing on a lit trail network. Experience magical night skiing with motion-detector lights. The Nordic Center is along the Jack Rabbit trail connector. It is a 5 km ski from LP village to the west, and has a heated lodge with restrooms, ski and rental shop, refreshments and showers.
Dewey Mountain Recreation Center
Dewey Mountain's well-marked trails offer a healthy mix of terrain for any level of cross-country skier or snowshoer.
Where to Rent
Located right on Main Street in Lake Placid. Ski and snowboard tuning is professional and quick with qualified techs and boot fitting at reasonable prices. Ski & Board has a full rental fleet of skis, snowboards. Higher end demo equipment is also available for rent.
Cunningham's Ski Barn is one of the oldest ski shops remaining under a single family's management in North America. Cunningham's rental fleet is made up of new Blizzard skis and Tecnica boots. Located minutes from Whiteface & Gore Mountain. With private customer parking.
Whiteface Mountain
Whiteface's Rossignol Experience Centers have ski or snowboard rental options for every skill level, with more than 1,200 pairs of skis from Rossignol and 200 snowboards from Burton, as well as an additional 150+ pairs of high-performance rental and demo skis. Rentals may be purchased at either two Rossignol Experience Centers located in the Whiteface Base Lodge or Bear Den Lodge.
